Educator Resources

The CSO presents educator workshops to support teachers’ work using music to affect learning and creativity in students. Sessions can include arts integration, instrumental pedagogy, conducting, and other topics. All sessions are FREE to educators and may be eligible to earn continuing education units (CEUs).

Mindfulness & Music: Tuesday, March 13 at 4:30pm, Music Hall

Deepen your learning around the Mindful Music Moments program by hearing how the program is utilized by schools, how it aligns with Common Core objectives and how educators are expanding the practice of mindfulness in their classrooms! We will also experience first-hand how live music can be the perfect way to bring focus, calm and musical appreciation to your students with a performance by CSO musicians.

Visit the Mindful Music Moments website for resources, lesson plans, media clips and more information.

Rehearsal Technique with JMR: Monday, March 19 at 7pm, Sycamore High School

Work with and receive feedback from Pops Conductor John Morris Russell in this test rehearsal setting as he and participants lead the CSYO Concert Orchestra. You can choose to participate as conductor or observe as the audience!

Contact Becky Spiewak, Education Programs Manager for more information or to RSVP.
