The CSO presents educator workshops to support teachers’ work using music to affect learning and creativity in students. Sessions can include arts integration, instrumental pedagogy, conducting, and other topics. All sessions are FREE to educators and may be eligible to earn continuing education units (CEUs).

Join us for an informal summer social at our OTR neighbor Rhinegeist! Get to know the CSO and enjoy some time to relax and unwind after a busy and successful school year. There will be light snacks provided and a chance to win a free giveaway! Event will last until 7:30 PM and educators are welcome to come anytime during the event. As a social event, this is not eligible to earn CEUs. No RSVP required.
Educator Workshop: World Instruments & Roots of Rhythm with Dr. Craig Woodson

Join in the fun at this interactive 4-hour educator workshop with ethnomusic expert, Dr. Craig Woodson. Throughout the workshop, we will learn how to make 10 different world music instruments for the classroom and explore Dr. Woodson’s Roots of Rhythm world drumming curriculum. Walk away with free curriculum handouts and an assortment of student-friendly DIY instruments! This workshop pairs well with attendance to our Young People's Concert: The Beat Goes On, but all teachers are welcome to attend! Educator Workshop: Conducting Master Class with JMR
Monday, February 4, 2019 at 6:30 PM, Sycamore High School
Learn from Cincinnati’s own Pops Conductor, John Morris Russell in a conducting master class where you take the podium! With the CSYO Concert Orchestra on the stage, practice your conducting with live coaching and feedback from JMR. If you prefer to learn from observation, attend the workshop and watch from the audience. Rehearsed repertoire will include musical excerpts from The Firebird. Free, RSVP is encouraged or required if wanting to conduct, light dinner provided, CEU eligible.
