What's Interesting

  • In addition to composing, Mozart was also a renowned pianist and string player in his day, eventually becoming concertmaster in his hometown of Salzburg. Mozart wrote Violin Concerto No. 4 when we was just nineteen years old.
  • A study in expression, Mahler’s music explores strong and disparate emotions, often sharply juxtaposed.
  • Mahler's Fifth is a fitting finale to the 18/19 season. The opening trumpet solo gives way to the full forces of the CSO, attending to Mahler’s vision that a symphony “must embrace everything.”
