If there is any symphony that operates like a “double agent,” it is Shostakovich's Fifth. Having found himself targeted by Stalin, Shostakovich composed himself out of a dangerous situation−with immensely gripping results. Stephen Hough returns for Rachmaninoff and Christian Reif begins the program with another work by Rachmaninoff — his brief yet beautiful, Vocalise.

Central Parkway will be closed from Liberty Street to Ezzard Charles in both directions starting at 1 PM on Saturday. We recommend allowing plenty of extra time for traffic and arriving early for the best parking options. We strongly recommend purchasing pre-paid parking in Washington Park Garage—call 513.381.3300 or go online to purchase parking Saturday (at cost) for $15 in the Washington Park Garage.
