A Letter from the President | October 2017
It is an honor to be the new President of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and I am delighted to have moved back to Ohio. I'm especially thrilled to be a part of the Cincinnati community.
This is an exciting time in the life of the Orchestra. We just returned from an 11-concert tour of Europe, where the Orchestra received thunderous applause, considerable media attention and rave reviews from the United Kingdom to Spain, from the Netherlands to Belgium, and finally three sold-out concerts in Paris. According to The Times of London review of the CSO debut at the BBC Proms, "The Ohio orchestra's first Prom is a touring programme of precision and sparkle that shows us exactly what we've been missing."
I'm excited to be working with the CSO Music Director Louis Langree, Cincinnati Pops Conductor John Morris Russell, the amazing musicians, Orchestra management team and Board, as well as the May Festival leadership. I am also looking forward to meeting the Orchestra's audiences and supporters. Our mission is to seek and share inspiration, and as much as you feel inspired by great artistry, I want to assure you that inspiration is a two-way street. Thank you for making all of this possible.
Lastly, we are humbled to be starting the next chapter in the extraordinary history of our home, Cincinnati Music Hall, following a major renovation that will preserve and protect this vibrant community gathering place for generations to come.
Whether it's your first concert or your 500th, welcome!
