CODA | January 2017
More great music is coming to a computer, tablet or smart phone near you!
For decades, radio listeners have enjoyed one-time broadcasts of Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra subscription concerts on Classical 90.9 WGUC. As is customary, the season’s worth of concert broadcasts starts in January with the opener recorded this past September. That program featured Music Director Louis Langrée conducting Beethoven’s “Emperor” Concerto with the legendary Emanuel Ax and closed with Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5. This celebrated performance, described by the Enquirer’s Janelle Gelfand as “gripping” and “stunning,” airs Sunday, January 8 at 8 p.m. on WGUC. In the past, that beautiful concert broadcast would have happened once and if you missed, well, you missed it.
In January alone, CSO IN CONCERT will feature on-demand streaming of amazing CSO performances featuring Lang Lang, Hilary Hahn, and the groundbreaking presentation of Fauré’s Pelléas et Mélisande—all led by CSO Music Director Louis Langrée.
