MOZART: Violin Concerto No. 5, Turkish
MAHLER: Symphony No. 5
The CSO gave the US premiere of Mahler's Fifth Symphony in 1905, deepening its connection to this central figure in music with a work that was the composer's most personal statement yet. Concertmaster Timothy Lees plays Mozart's ebullient Turkish Violin Concerto, which the composer wrote when he was only 19.
This concert is part of Series 1.
