Bring the CSO to your school or classroom!

Music is up close and personal for your students when CSO musicians are in your school.

Requests are closed for the 23/24 School Year. Registration for the 24/25 School Year will be available later this summer.

Interactive Performances

These 45 to 60-minute performances (or two back-to-back 45-minute performances) are designed to expose students to a variety of music, familiarize them with orchestral instruments and give them the opportunity to get to know the musicians who make up the Orchestra. The musicians will perform music as well as discuss the music they are playing.

Instrumental Coachings

Schedule a CSO musician to lead a sectional practice with your middle, high school or college music students. Musicians can help your students prepare for their upcoming performances through sectional or small ensemble coaching.

FAQs

: We are open to visits anywhere between 35 – 90 minutes in length. For younger grades, K-2, we recommend a max of 45 minutes, which includes music plus dialogue and Q&A. For older grades, 50-60 minutes is a comfortable length. If your school schedules two back-to-back performances of 45 minutes in length, they will only be charged once. For high school music students, a performance can be combined with sectionals or coaching for any length 90 minutes or under.
: We are happy to work with you to find an ensemble that meets your needs. Our most common ensembles are String Duos, Brass Trios, String Quartets and Woodwind Quintets. Let us know what works best for your students and budget.
: Musicians In School visits cost between $100 - $625+ depending on the number of musicians participating. Discounts are available for schools with Title I status or with a high percentage of free and reduced lunch students.
: Our musicians are able to travel up to 50 miles from Music Hall for in-school visits. Please note, the farther away from Music Hall, the more lead time we need to schedule musicians. If your school is outside the 50-mile radius, please contact us to see what other options, digital or otherwise, we can arrange.
