Classical Roots

April 29

Program and Description

GRAMMY-winning hip-hop artist Common joins the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra for Classical Roots. He’ll perform “Glory” from the movie Selma, for which he won the 2015 Academy Award for Best Original Song. This annual celebration of African American musical heritage at Music Hall also features vocalist Capathia Jenkins—back by popular demand—and the CSO Classical Roots Community Mass Choir.

Enjoy a pre-concert performance by dancers from Elementz on the front steps of Music Hall from 6:45-7:25pm.

Groups of 10 or more: call 513.744.3590.

Classical Roots is made possible in part thanks to The Corbett Educational Endowment established by Mrs. Patricia Corbett and The Corbett Foundation.

Common's Appearance underwritten by: Jeffrey & Jody Lazarow and Janie & Peter Schwartz Family Fund of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation
