Take a trip back in time to the WWI era by visiting the Tri-State Warbird Museum (TSWM). During your visit you will have a close-up look at vintage WWII-era combat planes, known as the warbirds, emblems of freedom and among the most significant and revered aircraft ever built. During this special viewing, you will see firsthand exceptionally restored and fully operational historic aircraft such as the TBM-3 Avenger and B-25 Mitchell. Each aircraft is a time capsule--a testament to the engineering, manufacturing and maintenance necessary to produce these machines that carried brave and skilled air men into battle. These historic aircraft are few in number and at growing risk of extinction. Through the efforts of the TSWM future generations will continue to appreciate the role of aviation in defending freedom. The facility is a memorial to the fighter aircraft of WWII, the pilots who flew them, and to the men and women who built the legendary warbirds.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to experience a real Chinese New Year celebration—complete with lion dancers—without ever leaving Cincinnati! The Michael and Helen Wong family emigrated from Hong Kong to Cincinnati in pursuit of the American dream in 1972. As the Year of the Rabbit begins, savor the sights, sounds, and flavors of this most important Chinese festival at an exclusive Party of Note at recently-opened Oriental Wok in Hyde Park and share the traditional good wishes of "congratulations and be prosperous" with your fellow party-goers. SPECIAL NOTE: This Party of Note was originally set for Mardi Gras on February 17, 2010, and had to be cancelled due to a snow emergency that day. The hosts have graciously agreed to reschedule this Party of Note for Mardi Gras, 2011. All of those who have paid reservations for that original date are being contacted. Harris, entertain you with a casual Mardi Gras Supper featuring traditional New Orleans cuisine topped with a finale of a flaming dessert. This party will include a tour of the historic Clifton Gaslight District home of the Harrises. "Pine Ridge," the unique Spanish Mission house, was built in 1904 by well-known Cincinnati artist, John Hauser, to become his studio as well as his residence. |

CSO violinist Paul Patterson was already studying classical music at age 12 when he became interested in the banjo and then the guitar, electric violin and mandolin as well. All of these interests have made him a leading figure in Cincinnati’s robust jazz scene. At this Party of Note, CSO Paul Patterson & Friends will dazzle you with a jazz concert created just for you! A buffet featuring homemade pastas, salad and desserts will be prepared by your hosts, headed up by Barb Hammel and Sandy Smith, who have wowed guests at previous Parties of Note. This is a perfect way to chase away any lingering late-winter doldrums!

“Oh, to be in Annwood…now that spring is here,” Robert Browning might have written about this darling home, once a mother’s house between two larger family houses. Sky-high windows in the living room form walls of glass with lovely garden views. At this time of year, the flowers and trees are bursting with new buds. Trudy Backus, a docent for the Cincinnati Preservation Society, will provide history about this area with a fascinating overview of East Walnut Hills residences of wealthy businessmen who settled there. Celebrate this special part of Cincinnati and the beautiful springtime views offered by your gracious hosts.

Delight in a springtime tour of Meredith and Chuck Downton's beautifully-restored Federal-style residence built circa 1834 (although historian Walter Langsam believes it was built in the late 1820's). Formerly the residence of Samuel Burdsal (a good friend of President William Henry Harrison), this historic home has been carefully expanded under the watchful eye of architect Ken Jones. In addition to seeing construction techniques of that era during the house tour, you'll be entranced by the sights and sounds of spring in this fascinating, evolving neighborhood and a special musical program.
